Alfred Reed Bishop and Doris William Butler

The picture above is the very tap root of Bishop's Homegrown/Face Of The Earth Seed. My grandparents shortly after moving to Pekin Indiana from Greensburg KY in 1947 where they purchased the farm that is now Bishop's Homegrown. This picture was taken in Pekin in front of the old co-op next to the old railroad depot, neither of which exist today.

What a beautiful day!

What a beautiful day today! It won't be long until we have produce for sale as all the early crops have poked their heads above the soil line.

This week we have rare antique bench grafted apple trees for sale 10.00 each. Kazakistan apple and pear seedlings 3.00 for four inch pots (from the same area Michael Pollan mentioned in "The Botany Of Desire") Composting worms, bedding, and caccons, 20.00 for a four gallon bucket!

And don't forget there is still time to join our CSA farm stand credit program!
